https://www.wildflowerwomen.net/2021-exhibition.html

Inspired by the her-stories of groundbreaking wild/flower women Kathleen McArthur, Vera Scarth Johnson and designer Florence Broadhurst contemporary female artists transform the delicate beauty of our native wildflowers to art, wallpaper, objects and design.

‘FROM THE HEATH’

Group Exhibition with ceramic artists Claudia De Salvo and Fred Valentine showing via The Third Quarter Gallery.

Showing now - June 28. Click to view + purchase.

FROM THE HEATH brings together two Brisbane artists and one Gold Coast artist to collectively pay homage to the precious enclaves of coastal swamp heath and wildflowers, adapted to grow from bleached silica sand habitats found along a small strip of Australia's East coast.

Their unique ceramic, illustration and arrangement work references the Australian landscape and fosters a conversation around objects, process and materials. Their practices - whilst diverse in nature - are all underscored by a deep respect for the natural resources that are the foundation of their work.
